The power of time and self-belief
The thing about time, is that it is constantly moving. Whether or not we decide to move with it or sit back feel sorry for ourselves and ‘wait’ for the right moment. Time moves on, the body ages, friends and family come and go, and before you know it, life becomes a series of aging and regrets more than thank and experience.
Well it isn’t too late. Yes, the time you let pass is gone, years, months, days may have passed by without much to look back and say, “hey look at all I have achieved”. But there is today and all the days to come that you can look forward to and say, “Yes I can do it and I will”.
What is it that you have always wanted in life that you have not yet achieved? Why? Was it lack of funds? Lack of support or lack of self-belief? We can not expect others to believe in ourselves, in our potential and support our dreams if we have self-doubt.
So firstly, believe that you are worthy enough to achieve all you want, without having an ego. That means believe in yourself but without thinking you or your dreams are better than anyone else. I am not better than you because I have a weekly blog, or have written some eBooks, but also you are not better than me because you may have something that I don’t. Treat everyone the same, that includes treating people who have achieved great success in life, the same as you treat yourself. If you feel excited or honoured to meet someone of high stature, that mean you can also look in the mirror and feel honoured to meet yourself. This will drastically change the way people see you.
Dedicate time in a day, everyday to achieving a mini goal toward your dream. Remember that achieving mini goals every day is easier than achieving one big goal occasionally. There are 1440 minutes in a day, no matter how busy you are, no matter how many clients you need to see to, or how many hours of work you have, or how much of house hold chores you have, isn’t at least 30 minutes from your 1440 minutes each day a reasonable amount of time to work on yourself?
Imagine 30 minutes of exercising? 30 minutes of working toward building your business or nurturing your clients? Whatever it is, and whatever amount of time you have available, make sure that you do spend some of those 1440 minutes each day to work on your dream. Set aside a goals journal and aim to achieve one mini goal each day in that time slot that you are giving yourself and see how your attitude toward yourself and self-belief changes for the better.
