7 tips to staying motivated through the week!
Hey there friends! It’s a new week and my first post for the month of August so I wanted to keep this read, fresh and fun and motivating! We are already in the eight month of the year and I can still remember rolling into 2018 like it was yesterday. Nevertheless for me this year seems to be going better than the previous ones and that is definitely because I have been more goal orientated with a sprinkle of self believe. How about you? How has your year been so far? How many goals have you achieved so far? Don’t worry if you haven’t achieved any as yet. Sometimes we tend to focus more on what we didn’t do, more than focusing on what we want and how to achieve it.
How do you stay motivated in a world of disturbances, negative vibes and social constraints?
Here are 7 simple tips to keep you motivated through the week! And hey a motivated person, is a productive person, who is (eventually) a successful person.
One
Have an attitude of gratitude for where you are and what situation you are in. Because honestly, no matter how much or what type of ‘lack’ there is in your life, it could have been worse.
So focus on the good and be happy about it. Be happy for your breath, your ability to move your body (therefore go to work etc.), your home, no matter how small or imperfect it might be, your family, your friends and even the job you are in at the moment. Being grateful doesn’t mean settling for less. It means having an appreciation for all things in your life.
Two
Remind yourself why you wake up every day.
We have a purpose to fulfill daily. Besides work commitments and daily chores, but there is something more to our existence, the reason we experience life. Remind yourself of this purpose every time you wake up. This will motivate you to be productive instead of lazy.
Three
Set a goal for the day
Each day you should have a personal goal that you want to achieve. It should be something small and achievable. Then focus on that goal and get it done. When we are successful at meeting goals our self-esteem goes up and we then feel that we can do more.
Four
Remind yourself why your goals are important.
In a world of constant doubt and stagnant energy it is both easy to forget about what we want and why we want it. For example someone might want to earn a certain amount of money to be able to look after their parents properly or send their loves ones on a well-deserved holiday. Or want to give their children the best educated. But when the world (other people) doubt us, or doubt themselves, it rubs off on to us as well and we also doubt our potential. And so the dream moves from an achievable one, to a farfetched idea. Remind yourself why your goals are important and what it would mean to you and your loved one if you could achieve them.
Five
‘Ignore rubbish’
Unfortunately there are more and more people who spew self-doubt and doubt the world around them than they are motivation people who will believe in your dreams. We can’t force anyone to believe in our potential but we can mentally and emotional ignore the rubbish negative energy that they want to send to you. Don’t ignore people, or their presence in your life. But remain firm in yourself to not allow negative thoughts and feelings to distract you. If someone expresses doubt in your ability then perhaps don’t confide in them so much. Don’t expect their mental support but also don’t be rude to them for their negative ways. Just ignore and focus on what is important to you.
Six
Be a candle
Aim to be a light, give light, and give warmth to people in a world of darkness. I mean this figuratively. When our goals include helping others and when we accomplish that, then the desire to do more of that increases, the goal becomes bigger and the self-belief gets stronger. When we make a positive impact on someone else (even if just one person) then the goals start to become easier and more achievable.
Seven
Get up when you fall
Dreaming, believing, planning, executing and succeeding does not always work as planned and when a person falls, they have to get up, relook at where they fell, why and how they fell and then try again. It is not going to help if you give up after falling because then you will just remain where you are.
Remember trying might not guarantee immediate success but it does guarantee and opportunity. While giving up just shuts the doors completely.
I do hope these 7 little tips on staying motivated will benefit you in achieving at least one goal for this year. Let us know in the comments section and do check out our Instagram feed and a link to our Love in Abundance Facebook page below.
